Vases as Candle Holders

We all like to get value form the things we buy, and buying less is something we are all thinking about these days. Up-cycling and re-purposing not only helps our planet but it also gives us unique items for our homes.

I thought I’d share with you one of my tricks for using vases as candle holders. This idea gives you 2 functions from one piece and it’s not a permanent change, so you can still go back to using your vase for flowers afterwards. You can enjoy styling your home in a new way from pieces you already own & love.

It’s very simple, just stand your candle in the vase, then fill all around it with fine sand until it’s steady. I usually make a little funnel out of paper to make it easier. If you son’t have sand you could try the same technique with rice or lentils.

This was my Christmas table centre-piece last year which I loved. (mini film below) My scroll vases as candle holders, some extra twinkly lights & maybe a little too much foliage for the width of my table, but hey, it had drama! I’m looking forward to creating a similar look this year, but leave a bit more space for plates!

You can browse my Single Scroll Vases here. I’d love to see how you style yours.
